Tuesday 6th August – Windsurf ** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny periods and hot.

Foil – 16.19 knot max , 11.62 knot ave, 3.02 knot hour, 13,99 knot mile, 13.64 km., 8.18 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Severne 1000 with a Tushingham Storm 6.5.

Brave Ian dropped his Severne foil around to me last night for me to borrow while I try and source another Starboard one, I had to file my board a little to take the 8mm bolts but that did not take a minute:)
I was keen to give the Severne a try, as we have a friend to visit on Tuesday afternoon I headed early with Mag so she could walk home arriving in Squiz Lane at 8.45 so after taking a few pics of Mag heading for home I set up my foil board with the Severne going together really well. Things did look promising at this point being sunny with a nice breeze slightly onshore so I took a chance with my 6.5. Ian had turned up as I finished putting my wet-suit on and was ready to set off but the wind had definitely eased but I decided to give it a try but it was very light, I did pump up very briefly twice so I headed in, Andy another winger had arrived but decided against it as more wind coming in the week. Ian headed out on his 5m wing but struggled to get going only flying now and again. I did give it another go and did have two long flying runs out, the Severne foil seem slippery and loose and pumps up well but to be honest the wind was too light to give it a fair go, in fact I didn’t get close to flying coming in and should have definitely rigged my 7.5! I decided to call it a day, Ian put on his biggest front wing but continued to struggle so he packed up as well. I think the wind did pick up late afternoon but one session a day is enough for me and we were having tea and cake with an old friend, after two crap sessions in a row I am hoping for better luck tomorrow but the direction is a bit all over the place so not sure where to go yet?

PS - was pleased to get a pic of Mag in the August Suffolk Magazine:)
